After Kai Po Che, Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkummar Rao team up again

Back in 2012, actors Sushant Singh Rajput and Rajkummar Rao teamed up for the first time in Kai Po Che! (KPC). The film served as Sushant’s first step into Bollywood, but it turned out to be a breakthrough part for Rajkummar. Now, the two have come together again for Raabta.

“It was sheer luck that they didn’t get to work together again after KPC. The two were cast together in Raabta by chance as well,” says a source, adding that Sushant wasn’t aware that Rajkummar would also be cast in Dinesh Vijan’s directorial debut.

“After the casting process was over, Dinesh happened to casually mention to Sushant that Rajkummar would be doing a cameo in the film. As soon as Sushant heard this, he called up his former co-star. They spoke at length and were happy that they would once again get to share a film set,” the insider says.

In fact, the source says that when the two actors met on the film’s set, it was almost as if they had picked up from where they left off. “While on the sets, they used to talk with each other constantly,” says the insider.

When contacted, Sushant said, “When Dinesh mentioned that Rajkummar would be doing a cameo in the film, I was ecstatic. I worked with him in my first movie, and there are so many learnings and memories of that film that I still have. So, I immediately reached out to him.”

However, it appears the two didn’t get to hang out a lot on the sets, as the schedule was a hectic one. Sushant says, “We both had to do hours of makeup, and I also had some tough action sequences that were very demanding. But it felt good to work with him again.”
