Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Was The Inspiration Behind Athiya Shetty’s Bollywood Career

It is quite common for children to look at someone and think of becoming like them when they grow up. Sadly, not all of them can achieve what they once wanted but, this isn’t the case with ‘Mubarakan’ actress Athiya Shetty. She recently revealed that there was one actress who inspired her to become a Bollywood celebrity. Can you guess who it was?

Back when Athiya was in school, she went on the set of J.P. Dutta's 'Umrao Jaan’ where she was mesmerized by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her portrayal of a courtesan. Remembering that day, Athiya said, “I was Aishwarya's poonch. I followed her on the set. I would just watch her getting ready for the shoot. And that's when I decided I wanted to be a part of this beautiful world of Hindi movies”.

The Hero actress also remembered her first time on a set. It was for her father Sunil Shetty’s film ‘Border’. She shared that at the time, she had no idea what was going on.

Athiya will soon be seen in ‘Mubarakan’ which will hit the screens on July 28. She will be sharing screen space with Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz.
