The Box-office game is always pretty unpredictable. Well nothing of that sort transpired this week at the ticket counter but Akshay Kumar the producer seemed losing out on Akshay Kumar the actor.

Yes, this week’s fresh release Fugly was able to put up relatively descent numbers though but it was Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty that continued to dominate the business. Interestingly Fugly is produced by Khiladi Kumar and the box office clash may not have gone down very well with him. When contacted he said these were two movies of different genres and was sure the movies would take in the targeted audiences. Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty meanwhile continued to soar big numbers and now looks a solid confirmed entrant into the 100 crore club. It garnered over 19 crores in its second weekend including Sunday’s 8.70 crores and got its tally upto 88 crores. Fugly on the other hand could manage figures only under 10 crores which is not bad considering the cost of the film. The film did show some escalation on Sunday and collected 3.6 crores.

All these shape ups only come out and tell that Akshay Kumar is still a bankable brand if only he chooses the correct script. His last ‘Boss’ despite taking a good start ran out of breath last year, so did Once Upon ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara!. The success of Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty comes as a very good news not just for the actor but for the industry and his fans as well. All eyes are now set to look if the movie is able to cross this year’s highest grosser ‘Jai Ho’ followed by Arjun Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer 2 States.
