    Alia Bhatt: ‘I've Always Wanted To Work With Mani Ratnam'

    Highway actress Alia Bhatt has recently expressed her desire to work with director Mani Ratnam. Previous reports stated that the director wanted Alia to play the female lead in O Kadhal Kanmani which was a Tamil film. It was also reported that Mani wanted both Alia and Varun Dhawan for the film in Hindi but it did not work out, as a result Dulquer and Nithya Menen were roped in for the lead roles.

    Talking about regional cinema, Alia revealed, “My dad (Mahesh Bhatt) keeps pushing me to watch regional films. He had said that I should definitely do Bengali films. I've always wanted to work with Mani Ratnam, so maybe I'll go down south and work with Mani sir”.

    The actress will soon be seen on the big screen in Kapoor and Sons. The movie has been directed by Shakun Batra and stars Sidharth Malhotra, Fawad Khan, Rishi Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, along with Alia. Kapoor and Sons will be released on March 18.
