Perhaps the most creditable, artistic and able music composer in the country, Amit Trivedi is churning the sides up and down when it comes to music. The composer recently revealed how Indian music is rooted with classical music as its asset and what the composers of today should cater upon.

Talking about the kind of derogatory lyrics being served in the name of anthems, Amit said, “I never use vulgar and cheap lyrics in my songs, especially the word alcohol. Neither do I try to encourage that culture with my tracks, nor do I love it. All musicians who are using such lyrics are may be doing so because of a film’s demand.” Amit who has been highly appreciated for his compositions in Dev D, Wake Up Sid, Lootera and Queen, told how India is all about Classical music.

“Classical music cannot deplete from Indian industry. It’s just that there are new trends coming up. People are widening their choices to new genres. But classical music, which is the root of India, will never get sidelined. If people like peppy numbers, then such songs have to be catered to them at regular intervals. If they will demand for classical tracks, then definitely we will make those too,” he said. While we’re totally in sync with his music, must admit we like views too.
