Legal notices have been issued to Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, the host of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), its producer Siddharth Basu and five others on Wednesday by a metropolitan court in Ahmedabad. A complaint has been lodged that the show’s promos depict the lawyers’ job in a "derogatory" way.

The complaint has been filed by city-based legal practitioner Davindar Singh Rakkad in front of the chief metropolitan magistrate S.V. Parekh. The application cites that the promos of the quiz show, which have been telecast since last few days, have a lot of offensive materials against the lawyers’group.

The notices have sought the alleged offenders’ responses by August 21 to begin the trial. Rakkad has demanded stern legal actions against the seven persons involved in the television programme including host Amitabh Bachchan. The actions need to be taken under Section 500 of code of criminal procedure (defamation) and various other terms of the Information and Technology Act. As evidence the plaintiff has also presented a CD which has the audio-visuals of the trailers.
