Are We About To See Shah Rukh & Big B Together On Screen Again?

Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna in 2006 was the last we saw SRK and Big B in one cinematic frame and it has been an exasperating wait ever since. While Mr. Bachchan is now collaborating with Aamir Khan in Thugs of Hindostan, one only expects the Badshaah and Shehenshah to once again bring a treat to their fans by sharing the big screen again! While they gave a short teaser in the Yash Chopra directed Veer-Zaara in 2004, it was a shorter tease with KANK in 2006. But even a 10 seconder reunion is enough for the fans who are expecting them to reunite in Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi that releases in a few weeks.

Here’s the logic and theory behind it: Every film that filmmaker R. Balki or his wife Gauri Shinde have directed in the last 10 years has either featured Big B in the lead or has carried a guest appearance in some way. Here’s the data:

Cheeni Kum – Big B in lead (Directed by R. Balki)

Paa – Big B in lead (Directed by R. Balki)

English Vinglish – Big B in a cameo (Directed by Gauri Shinde)

Shamitabh – Big B in lead (Directed by R. Balki)

Ki & Ka – Big B in a cameo (Directed by R. Balki)

So if Gauri Shinde hasn’t decided to break the tradition of featuring their lucky mascot in a movie, we just might have Amitabh Bachchan obliging people’s expectations again. However, since R. Balki’s production isn’t involved with this Alia-SRK starrer in anyway, the onus would be on Dharma and Red Chilies to continue the tradition. Given the recent turn of events, chances are pretty grim about the possibilities of Big B’s cameo.

But as far as those millions of fans out there go, we can be as optimistic as we can be!
