    Legendary superstar Amitabh Bachchan is to be honoured for his workas the Goodwill Ambassador of Polio UNICEF campaign. The 69-year-old has been affrontingthe fight against polio programme successfully since 2005. "And the organisation thatacknowledges social work for a cause, will honour yours truly for the work done as UNICEFambassador for the fight against polio, which as you know has had some rather encouragingachievements," Bachchan posted on his blog. The actor also wrote hes glad to see that therewas no case of polio in India last year. "For an entire year there has been no case of polioreported in the country for the first time since the campaign began. That is fantastic for acountry plagued with the disease for years. A gentle pat on the back, if I may. There is moreto come, and when it does I shall inform. It is for another cause I have worked on. A mostrewarding experience," Bachchan added.
