Anhey Ghore Da Daan wins top honour at IFFI, GoW at Sundance
Punjabi filmAnhey Ghore Da Daanwins top honour, the Golden Peacock award, at the 43rd International Film Festival of India here yesterday. The Gurvinder Singh’s directorial venture, produced by the National Film Development Corporation, is an adaptation of a novel by Gurdial Singh defeated 14 films in the international competition section and won a cash prize of Rs four million. The Silver Peacock award for best director went to Kyu-hwan Jeon for South Korean filmThe Weight.
In the mean time, Anurag Kashyap’s blockbuster filmGangs of Wasseypurhas been selected for screening at the Sundance Film Festival after being showcased at several prestigious film festivals like Toronto and Busan.
