Anupam Kher started acting school due to bankruptcy

Anupam Kher’s acting school is quite popular amongst the aspiring actors but certainly no one knows why he chose to start an acting school. The Silver Linings Playbook actor recently revealed that he started ‘Actor Prepares’ as a result of bankruptcy, which he faced 11 years back. He started ‘Actor Prepares’ in 2005.

During the inaugural function of IIFA 2015, the veteran actor said, “I was failed in all other aspects of filmmaking and was completely bankrupt because my dreams were higher than realities. So, I started my acting school in a small room with 12 students to prepare future actors and actresses. I will request Malaysian government also to build an acting school here as it will help to produce a profession”.

The A Wednesday actor also revealed that he hates addressing the film industry as Bollywood and prefers calling it Hindi Film industry instead. “I hate to use Bollywood. We have coined a word similar to Hollywood. Our industry is Hindi film industry and it has the potential to take over any industry in next 10 years because of the infrastructure and corporates pitching in”, he said.
