Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin head for legal separation

Mumbai, March 31 -- A lot has been speculated about filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actress Kalki Koechlin’s troubled marriage. In fact, the couple had previously issued a joint statement which read, “Me and Kalki are separating, we are taking time off from each other to figure things out. We are not divorcing. We request the media to please respect our privacy and give us our space and not speculate. Thank you, Kalki and Anurag”. However, now it has been confirmed that things are not smooth between them and they have already filed for divorce.

In a conversation with Times of India, the Dev D actress confirmed that she has made the separation official. She said, “Right now, I am in a good space. Last year was a little bit more of a struggle, as I didn’t know where I was going. I wasn’t sure where my relationship with Anurag was going. All of it was unclear. Now, we are pretty clear that we are not going to be together. We have already applied for divorce and will get it soon”.

Rumour mills had been churning that actress Huma Qureshi was the reason for their split, but Kalki Koechlin rubbished the rumours.
