Anurag Kashyap Feels Responsible For Ranbir Kapoor’s Downfall

Young actor Ranbir Kapoor has established himself in the industry as a versatile actor through movies like ‘Wake Up Sid’, ‘Barfi’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. He was considered to be one of the top actors till his winning streak came to an abrupt end with films like ‘Besharam’ (2013) and ‘Bombay Velvet’ (2015). The former was directed by Anurag Kashyap’s brother Abhinav Kashyap while the latter was directed by Anurag himself. The Dev D director recently stated that he feels responsible for Ranbir’s falling graph.

“Both Bombay Velvet and Besharam affected me personally. All these things (downfall of Ranbir’s career) affected me as you take responsibility for the work you do. I feel responsible for that thing”, said Anurag. He added, “I think Ranbir is one of the finest actors and he was willing to experiment. We failed him collectively, a lot of us failed him”.

While Ranbir’s performance on the silver screen has not been up to the mark, fans surely hope that his upcoming film ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ will help the actor redeem himself. The movie stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma, along with Ranbir. Directed by Karan Johar, the movie will be released on October 28.
