    Anurag Kashyaps film selected for Sydney Film Festival competition

    New Delhi -- Bollywood director Anurag Kashyaps crime saga Gangs of Wasseypur is selected for being shown at the 59th Sydney Film Festival where it will compete with films like The King of Pigs, a Korean animation movie, and Lore, an Australian flick. Gangs of Wasseypur, which stars Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Jaideep Ahlawat in key roles, is made in two parts and both the parts will be showed at the event which starts on June 6. The official website of the festival stated, "These are the films - selected from the best work by current filmmakers around the world - that provoke, court controversy, broaden our understanding of the world and say important things in innovative ways. Alps, Beasts of the southern wild, Caesar Must Die, The King of Pigs, Gangs of Wasseypur-1 and Gangs of Wasseypur-2-- are the films made by exciting new talent as well as masters of the form. These are the films we honour in our Official Competition," the website added. Anurags directorial venture will also be screened at the Cannes Film Festival this year.
