Aurangzeb not a hit on its debut day

Aurangzeb not a hit on its debut day

After a long wait, finally Arjun Kapoor-starrer Aurangzeb made it to the theatres, though not with a bang. The opening day was dull for Aurangzeb’s box-office collections with merely 15-20 percent ticket sales at multiplexes as well as single screen theatres.

In North the movie was received at its best. It’s expected that Saturday and Sunday will see a huge jump in the box-office earnings for Aurangzeb. Produced with a Rs. 25 crore budget, the mafia thriller stars Arjun Kapoor in a double role, Jackie Shroff as a builder and Rishi Kapoor as a cop. The film is directed by Atul Sabharwal and it also stars Amrita Singh, Prithviraj Sukumaran and Sashaa Agha.

Other release of the weekend, I Don’t Love U started with a below 10 percent mark. In the meantime last week’s release Go Goa Gone is still going steady at the domestic box-office, grossing around 20 crore in its first week, though was not much liked overseas. Last Friday’s second release Gippi could not gain much appreciation in its box-office numbers and concluded its second week quite below its expectations.
