B. O Report: Khoobsurat earns better reviews while Daawat-e-Ishq takes the early box office lead

On an extremely vital Friday for the box office the two films released have taken an average opening as per the early trends however the picture would turn by the late evening and night shows. While Yashraj’s Daawat-e-Ishq fared a better occupancy, Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan starrer Khoobsurat seems to be earning better reviews.

The word of mouth for both the movies hasn’t been bad though with audiences liking Daawat-e-Ishq as well but surprisingly it is Khoobsurat that has so far got the better of critics. Would this translate into figures? Only time will tell. Khoobsurat is looking to be getting better figures at multiplexes while Daawat-e-Ishq is faring similar at both plexes and single screens. The Habib Faisal directed film has a lot of factors that the audience would want to watch. Though the collections have so far indicated an average run, the footfalls are expected to grow owing to the word of mouth by the later shows. The early reports have suggested a decent performance by both Parineeti and Sonam in their respective roles and movies. While some critics believe Sonam has been able to pull of Rekha like job, but come on we were not expecting her to outperform the original. Were we?
