Baadshaho Song: Socha Hai Will Give You Those Retro Vibes

Baadshaho Song: Socha Hai Will Give You Those Retro Vibes

If we were to line up rap-driven remixes of old favourites in new films that have released of late, it would probably reach the moon. Yes, that’s a wild exaggeration but we are so, so tired of hearing a remix every time a new film comes out with a old song that you can consider this a vent.

So, imagine our chagrin when Baadshaho announced that its new song Socha Hai, to be released on Thursday featuring Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta, is actually the old Socha Hai (Kehdu Tumhe Ya Chup Rahun) featuring Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh (now Kapoor). As a compensation, Emraan announced this remix will be rap-free.

The song came out as promised and it is very much the remix we anticipated. But the lack of rap made it so much more pleasant to the ears.

So, here is how remixes work: a composer takes an old song, adds the beat, adds Badshah who adds rap and everyone dances to it at parties/discs/weddings for the rest of the year. Now, Socha Hai takes Badshah out of the mix, sexes up the song, adds erstwhile smooch-king Emraan to it, adds Esha for oomph and we have the song.

We will say it is pleasant to the ears. The video has enough of kitsch and oomph. Is there anything new? Nope, the queue to moon just got its latest addition. Also, you have another song to dance at parties/weddings/discs. This will go in the slow, slow dance variety.
