Here's Why Katrina Walked Out On Sidharth Malhotra!

Baar Baar Dekho is one upcoming film which has taken the internet by storm, be with its first look with a hot looking Katrina Kaif, or the catchy number Kala Chashma! The makers of the film, Karan Johar, Ritesh Sidwani, Farhan Akhtar and debut director Nitya Mehra with the lead actors,Sidharth Mehrota and Katrina Kaif, sat down for a round table conference to kick start the promotions of the film, in which Karan Johar played the host.

Here are excerpts from the interview which show why the film is a much awaited and promising project.

About The Film –

On Being A Time Travel Film -

2. “The theme of time is pretty much in there as is the theme of love and life, but I don’t think it’s a time travel film at all.” Nitya Mehra

On Being A High Concept -

2. “Hindi films are known for making love stories, moving forward I think we have to speak to a younger audience, present love stories in a way they enjoy and that they have not seen before, using technology, using things that the young mind is very influenced by. I think that is what makes it in the end slightly high concept.” Farhan Akhtar

3. “The best way to put out the concept is, like, what if you were given a chance to actually see the future of your relationship. What if we could see the future and how good or bad would that be. It has a situation and also has a solution” Karan Johar

3. “There has been two times in my life that I have heard a narration and I have cried. One film never got made, and this was the second time that happened for me. As a girl and as a woman I think it hits so deeply and personally which is why for me this was just the film I knew I was going to be a part of.” Katrina Kaif

4. “When Ritesh gave it to me, I read the first twenty pages, It was set in America and I didn’t even read the script and I told him, I’m so sorry but I can’t do this. I didn’t feel it was grounded anywhere.” Nitya Mehra

5. “I think that film making is very collaborative and after a while as a director you could lose perspective. So I am very happy to being people into the room and just hear them out. But very rarely I have reached the point where it’s my way or the highway.” Nitya Mehra

6. “When I didn’t want them to have any chemistry, I don’t think they were even speaking to one another. When I got to the love story part of it, I was actually worried, how I am going to make a film with two people I think may not even be vibbing.” Nitya Mehra. 

7. “One day when Sid came and was trying to make a joke with me and then I got up and walked away to the other side of the room, because it was working better for me that way.” Katrina Kaif

8. “There is a very big portion of the film that I am very distant and he’s supposed to be very confused, so what was happening on the sets was exactly that. I was being distant and Sid was confused that what is wrong with Katrina?” Katrina Kaif

9. “Do you know there is something also known as a duet song! She’s not aware, that’s the problem.” Sidharth Malhotra

11. “What I am not good at splitting the centre of a stage. Because when you have a stage and this is where the camera is the instinct is just to be in front of the camera. It’s just an instinct I just can’t fight.” Katrina Kaif

12. “A scene maybe an opinion. That’s why probably sometimes I am not as opinionated about a scene or as about a take but dance to me is something where it’s easier for me to see what is right and what is wrong. I think I just enjoy it. “ Katrina Kaif
