    Begum Samru director Tigmanshu Dhulia had plans to have Bollywood’s top actresses Rani and Kareena on board but after their refusal, the filmmaker has to look for the other faces. The46-year-old director of Paan Singh Tomar and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster has faced this refusal as the film requires more of skin show.

    The director commented, "I don't think any of the top actresses in our country would be comfortable with the nudity in Begum Samru. Certainly not any of the A-listers. So it's best if I sign an international actresss." He added to his statement, “The role requires a lot of body exposure from its heroine. Rani loved the script but declined because of nudity. Kareena, too, said no for the same reason.”

    The upcoming project is a periodic drama depicting the life of Begum Samru in 18thcentury India. She started her career as a Nautch but eventually became the ruler of Sardhana, a small principality near Meerut. The begum later on played a vital role in the political power struggle of 18th and 19 century. Other developments in the same are still awaited.
