Bhansali hires professional Garba dancers for Deepika Padukone

To do justice to her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much talked about filmRam Leela,Bollywood beauty Deepika Padukone is reportedly not only attending workshops but also taking Gujarati Garba dance. Bhansali, who is known as a perfectionist, has hired traditional Garba dancers to teach the dance form to Deepika and co actress Riccha Chadda. According to reports, Deepika, who is a good Kathak dancer, is learning it quickly and will soon start shooting for the film but Richa is finding little tough.

According to sources, rehearsals are on every evening at Juhu. "Garba is a frenetic, almost violent form of dancing. Bhansali didn't want the filmy Garba. He wanted the real thing. So he got a couple of traditional Garba dancers from Gujarat to Mumbai to teach Deepika and Richa the real Garba," added the source. "Deepika is very athletic and very swift on her feet. So is Richa. But Richa suffered a knee injury while doing an action scene for a film calledTamancheyand had to undergo knee surgery. So the aggressive Garba steps are not being kind to her knees," the source stated.
