Big B, Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan may unite for 1965’s classic ‘Waqt’ remake

While this may be the first of smoke generating from an unformed fire, we hear that makers of the 1965 classic cult ‘Waqt’ are planning a remake of this gem. According to sources, late Ravi Chopra’s wife Renu Chopra is hoping to recreate the magnum opus in today’s time. In fact, even the cast is being zeroed in for the same.

If some reports are to believed then Big B might come in to play Balraj Sahni’s character while Akshay Kumar may reprise Raj Kumar’s role. Varun Dhawan is reportedly being considered to step in Shashi Kapoor’s shoes. Sunil Dutt’s character hasn’t found a choice yet. As enriching as the project sounds, this might just be a magnanimous prospect if materialized.

Waqt is considered as one of the biggest blockbusters on Indian cinema and was a family tale of tragedy, separation, reunion. Hoping the makers come up with something more concrete, we wait for a bigger announcement. At the moment, it is just floating.
