Big releases today: D-Day, Ramaiya Vastavaiya and Ship of Theseus

It’s raining films of various genres; drama, romance and espionage thriller are here to make it difficult for you to pick one. First up is Nikhil Advani's D-Day, a crime-thriller, featuring Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Irrfan Khan, Huma Qureshi and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. The film revolves around terrorism and brings back India's most wanted man from the neighbouring nation.

The second Bollywood release is Ramaiya Vastavaiya, directed by Prabhu Dheva. The movie features Shruti Haasan and newbie Girish Kumar in main characters. The story is about an NRI falling in love with an Indian girl. The flick is a Hindi remake of Prabhu Dheva's directorial debut Telugu hit, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana. And, last but not the least, Anand Gandhi's creation, Ship of Theseus. The film, presented by Kiran Rao, is also releasing today only.

Ship of Theseus is about three characters; a visually impaired photographer, an erudite monk and a stock-broker and their journey of discovering the ideas of individuality, beauty and death. The big filmmakers of Bollywood have loved the flick very much post its screening. “Ship of Theseus makes you feel very inferior as a filmmaker, it's that brilliant. It is such a film which I cannot make as I neither have the talent nor strength to make such a beautiful film," said director Karan Johar. Hope the day unfolds in the best possible way for all film enthusiasts.
