Both Hrithik and Shahid feel optimist about ‘clash’, say both films will work

The industry is going to witness one of the most prolific box office clashes in the recent times when Hrithik Roshan’s Bang Bang and Shahid Kapoor’s Haider will battle it out on October 2nd. However, when asked for a reaction, both the actors were seen quite content with their work and said both films would work.

While Bang Bang is out an out action film attracting the masses, Haider is much of an intense drama with darker shades that only a Vishal Bharadwaj fan can seem to relate to, therefore the clash is only in terms of two different prospects and not the genres. Of course the word of mouth would come into play as well. In an event where Hrithik shared his MJ tribute, the actor when asked about the clash said, “2nd of October is probably going to lay a new example where two good films will do fantastic business.”

Shahid had a more practical way of looking at it. The actor said, “We knew for a long time that Bang Bang was releasing on the same day as Haider. I hope Bang Bang does really well. I really like Hrithik’s work and it’s looking really good. But I am very confident about my film. And I feel what Haider is offering the audience, Bang Bang can’t and vice versa. So there are two very distinct choices for people to make. So I don’t see them clashing in terms of offering the audience the same thing. ang Bang is made at a very different budget from Haider. We have made Haider on a strict budget. It won’t take as much time as my other films for us to recover money. It’s a five-day weekend which, again, very rarely happens. A three-day weekend is enough to handle two big films… we have seen that in the past. And I have no reason to worry because eventually people want to see good films.” While both actors prefer to be optimist about their films performing, we would only hope the better film performs. We’ll find that out in a couple of weeks time.
