10 Biggest Movies of 2017 & Here’s How Much They Will Earn!
The last couple of years have undeniably not been the most fruitful ones for Bollywood and everybody in the industry is wary of it. While most films would cross the 100 crore mark without breaking a sweat a few years ago, even biggies are having to drag themselves to touch the coveted figure now. While movies like Dangal and Sultan were always expected to perform better, it was kind of surprising how biggies like Fan, Mohenjo Daro fell flat on their faces.
Box office has become unpredictable and producers are feeling the pressure. While we already have got three 100 crore grossers this years in the looks of Raees, Kaabil and Jolly LLB 2, it is going to be even more interesting to see how other movies in the fray perform. So here we are with our box office predictions for all the biggies this year.
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Hindi Version)
Predicted Box Office: 150-200 crores
While the first past of the epic saga sprung a huge surprise by getting itself registered in the 100 crore club through its Hindi version alone, the sequel is expected to be much bigger. Therefore, while anything in the range of 150 crores is certain if the reports are good, it may even touch the 200 crore mark if word of mouth is extremely positive.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha
Predicted Box Office: 100-110 crores
Akshay Kumar is maintaining his winning streak and even though Toilet Ek Prem Katha isn’t really a mainstream commercial drama, the film is still expected to do well. It is likely to touch the 100 crore mark and even go beyond if reports are good..
Tubelight
Predicted Box Office: 320-340 crores
Bhai was last seen on Eid 2016 only to prepare himself to create another Dhamaka this Eid. With the killer combination of Kabir Khan, Salman Khan and Eid set to enthrall viewers, business of anything in the range of 320-340 crores is on the cards.
Jagga Jasoos
Predicted Box Office: 80-100 crores
The long delayed film did evoke some emotions with its first trailer, however the craze has only been diminishing since then. It’s never a good sign if a movie endlessly gets delayed for several different reasons. However, given all the big names attached to this biggie, word of mouth can also translate into good box office numbers.
Shah Rukh-Anushka’s Next With Imtiaz Ali
Predicted Box Office: 130-150 crores
Tentatively titled The Ring, this SRK starrer with Imtiaz Ali has been making news for a long time. With so much of anticipation around the project and a filmmaker like Imtiaz at helm, there’s a lot to expect from the film.
Baadshaho
Predicted Box Office: 80-110 crores
The last time Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi came together under the direction of Milan Luthria, the result was a classic Once Upon A Time a Mumbai. With Baadshaho, a similar kind of magic is expected to be recreated given the hype around the film. If reports favor the business of the movie, we are looking at anything between 80-110 crores.
Golmaal Again
Predicted Box Office: 140-150 crores
One of the most liked comedy franchises that Indian viewers don’t mind spending their moneys for, Golmaal comes back this year. While Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn have already set high standards in terms of box office, the fourth instalment of the series is expected to earn big.
2.0 (Hindi Version)
Predicted Box Office: 160-200 crores
Yes, Akshay Kumar has never delivered a 200 crore movie and he has a chance to do it this year even when he’s not the hero. The Shankar directorial starring the one and only Rajinikanth, 2.0 is expected to gross in the range of 500 crores all versions included, the Hindi version where people are likely to drool over Akshay Kumar may even touch 200 crores if reports are good.
Padmavati
Predicted Box Office: 200-220 crores
After having delivered a blockbuster like Bajirao-Mastani in 2015, this one is expected to go bigger in terms of box office. While the controversial film has already been in news repeatedly, it may really pull off something special if it’s as good as Bajirao-Mastani in terms of quality content.
Tiger Zinda Hai
Predicted Box Office: 300-320 crores
While the title of the film is synonymous to an epic blockbuster, this one could end the year the same way Dangal did last year. The film with so many quality aspects attached to its name can virtually be Salman Khan’s second 300 crore grosser in the same year (if Tubelight does it).
So can we have a year with two 300 crore grossers for the first time?
