Box Office Report: Singh Is Bling Sets off Strong, Talvar Remains Stable

Box Office Report: Singh Is Bling Sets off Strong, Talvar Remains Stable

Akshay Kumar is back on the big screen playing a true Punjabi Sikh boy in Singh Is Blinng and people have certainly loved the Amy Jackson Starrer film. The Prabhu Deva directorial has sprouted well at the box office and has minted Rs. 54.44 crores in just three days. With this, the Gabbar Is Back star has surpassed the record of Brothers, which collected Rs. 52.08 crores in the opening weakened.

The other film, which released this weekend, was Talvar, loosely based on the Noida dual murder case involving Arushi Tawlar. The film has garnered positive reviews from the critics and has made Rs. 9.25 crores over the weekend. Considering the modest budget of the film and its reliability on word of mouth promotions solely, the Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer flick has done quite a decent business.

On the other side was competitor for Baahubali, Vijay starrer Puli. The Hindi version of the Tamil-Telugu flick failed to strike the right chords with Hindi speaking audiences. The Sridevi starrer film was hyped to be the next Baahubali but neither it earned appreciation for critics and nor did it see good footfalls coming its way. On the whole, the flick went unnoticed.
