Box Office: Sunny Leone shines as Ek Paheli Leela holds strong

The makers of Ek Paheli Leela must be breathing a sigh of relief as the film hasn’t spoiled their plans of raking in much moolah. The Sunny Leone starrer maintained a good momentum and did not see a deep fall in collections even after the opening weekend. The box office therefore is singing ‘Desi Look’ right now.

Directed by Bobby Khan, while Ek Paheli Leela sprung a surprise and collected more than 5 crores on Friday, the opening weekend figure was an impressive 15.5 crores. The weekdays too, have contributed substantially well adding 2.18 crores on Monday and 2.46 crores on Tuesday. The figures are indicative of the fact that audiences are still going to watch the film with the word of mouth being encouraging to a certain extent. The film looks like heading towards a decent figure and is certain to earn profits for the distributors.

On the other hand, the religious satire starring Paresh Rawal and other veterans couldn’t work. Dharam Sankat Mein, after having opened to a moderate 1 crore at the counters, ended its opening weekend at 5 crores. With Monday and Tuesday being noticeably low, the film has just reached the mark of 6 crores. With this pace, the film doesn’t even look like touching the 10 crore mark. Meanwhile, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Broken Horses went largely avoided.
