Budhia Singh: Born To Run Trailer Is Out! And It's One Biopic You Shouldn't Miss!

Soumendra Padhi’s biopic on the prodigal marathon runner from Orissa, Budhia Singh, had been discussed by many long before. The movie, that was to be named Duronto, would have showed the story of a five year old boy who came to limelight after completing one and a half marathon (close to 65 kms) without showing any signs of exhaustion. 

And today, the trailer of this movie is finally out. The movie is named Budhia Singh: Born to Run. But the movie focuses as much the prodigal child as on his coach, Biranchi Das, who had been shot dead in 2006.

Manoj Bajpayee shines as Biranchi, who gave shelter, trained and took total care of Budhia, with the dream of taking him to the 2016 Rio Olympics. The film also seems to have concentrated on the controversies that Biranchi got into while training Budhia.

The film now joins the long list of biopics on sportsmen who have been neglected. The sport- marathon, is also not much talked about in Bollywood before, and is therefore novel! 

Buddhia is now a 14 year old boy, whose skills seem to have faded and who misses Biranchi and his training. Maybe the biopic might help draw attention of the country towards this boy who might shine with a little help and funding and proper training.
