    Case Against Salman Khan’s Fake Profile On Facebook

    Fake accounts on social media exist for every possible Bollywood celebrity one can think of. There exists a fake profile of Salman Khan on Facebook, on which invitations to join his latest firm in partnership with manager Reshma Shetty has been floating. A case has been registered against the same recently.  

    “We registered a case under sections 66( c) and 66 (d) of the IT Act and sections 499 and 500 of the Indian Penal Code and a probe is underway”, said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) K MM Prasanna. The profile came to limelight after DSK Legal Mumbai, the firm representing Salman in 2002 hit-and-run case, came across it on Facebook on September 21 and approached the cyber cell of Mumbai thereafter. The complaint was lodged against the same on September 26.

    The profile also has a picture of Salman Khan’s passport uploaded on it. An official said, “The page made an offer to those who were interested to join the firm called Matrix India Entertainment Consultant Ltd. We are verifying if the passport grab used by the accused on the page was indeed that of the actor”. The police are now busy locating the IP address of the page on which the profile has been created.
