Change of directors doesn’t make Emraan opt out of Azharuddin biopic

Change of directors doesn’t make Emraan opt out of Azharuddin biopic

Despite Kunal Deshmukh walking out of the biopic being made on cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, good friend Emraan Hashmi will still be a part of the project. The film being made under Balaji Motion Pictures which was earlier set to be directed by Kunal, saw the director walking out for some reasons. However, Emraan who was previously reported to be opting out too following the ouster of his friend, will still be the lead.

The project is now being directed by Anthony D’Souza, who holds films like Blue and Boss to his credit. The chief creative officer of the production himself came on record to state the proceedings. "Azhar is batting on the front foot, literally, and is our big tent pole summer movie. Anthony D'Souza, director of Boss, helms it. In fact, Emraan Hashmi is training for batting accuracy and authentic cricket playing supervised by Azharuddin himself," he said.

Emraan who has previously worked in cricketing associated films like Jannat, would be playing a sportsman for the first time. The actor is reportedly taking a serious training schedule and is in constant touch with the ex-Indian skipper himself. Let’s see how where the project goes.
