CityLights’ special screening attended by Vidya Balan, Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin

Hansal Mehta and Rajkummar Rao are all set to recreate their Shahid magic once again with their May 30 release, CityLights. Ahead of its theatrical release CityLights had a special screening with the presence of Bollywood personalities who responded quite positively towards the film.

Bollywood personalities like Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan and Kalki Koechlin were some of the faces from the industry who were spotted at the event. Among others were Irrfan Khan, Huma Qureshi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Arbaaz Khan. All the guests unanimously praised Rajkummar for his extraordinary performance in the film which is a story of Rajasthani farmer Deepak Singh and his family. New comer Patralekha, who will be seen as Rajkummar’s wife in the film, has also mesmerised every viewer.

Dabangg director Anubhav Sinha and Dostana director Tarun Mansukhani also took to their Twitter pages for sharing their reviews of the performances. Alia went emotional after the film ended and she said, “After watching the film, I was speechless.” She went on saying, “It was outstanding. We already have a national award winner, Rajkummar Rao in the film. But Patralekha...This is her debut film and she has acted so well which I don't think I can ever touch upon." “After 'Highway', I always used to see if people have tears in their eyes. Then I think that the movie is a hit. I came out crying of the theatre, so the director was very happy,” she added further. Another special screening of the film will be held by the producers for director Anurag Kashyap and his industry buddies.
