Padmavati

After the epic success of Bajirao Mastani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has turned attention Padmavati. The film will be based on tyrant emperor Alauddin Khilji's obsession for Padmavati, the queen of Chittor. Deepika Padukone will play the eponymous role, while Ranveer Singh will don the role of Alauddin Khilji. Shahid Kapoor, on the other hand, will assume the role of Padmavati’s husband Rawal Ratan Singh.

The film is slated for December 1st release.

Deepika is all set to reunite with Piku co star Irrfan in Vishal Bharadwaj’s next film which would be directed by Honey Trehan. The film is based on a novel by author S. Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai.

Sahir Ludhianvi's biopic as Amrita Pritam

Deepika Padukone, who has shattered records with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati, has been reportedly roped in to play poet Amrita Pritam in the director’s next venture and Abhishek Bachchan will star opposite her as Sahir Ludhianvi.

Imtiaz Ali's play

According to reports, Imtiaz Ali has turned his attention towards his next project, a play. It has been said that the director, who is right now concentrated on the release of his untitled project starring SRK and Anushka Sharma, is keen on asking Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. The two actors were previously seen together in the director's film Tamasha.

The play will reportedly will be ready for audiences in 2018.

The Rajinikanth movie that has been long stalled now is a pending project in Deepika’s filmography. The movie also stars Ileana D’cruz and will be directed by K. S. Ravikumar. The film is tentatively scheduled for 2019.
