Direction is hard work with no money, reckons Saif

After having worked in more than 50 films, actor Saif Ali Khan has certainly come to the terms of knowing that acting is far better a job than directing. According to the HumTum star, direction is a job with a lot of hard work where you are not even paid much. Khan told this while responding to a question if he would take up direction.

Saif said, "Direction is a lot of hard work and you don't get money. Tomorrow, if I am not a star, I will get into it. It's an interesting job, but very difficult." Saif who turned a producer in 2009 has produced quite a few films but direction for him comes down as a hardworking underpaid job. That is when one wonders, if it’s all about the money at the end of the day. While spinning money while producing a film doesn’t come a job of hard work for actors, taking the helm in hands suddenly becomes a job too heavy to carry only because it doesn’t yield the desired returns. Barring Aamir Khan who directed the widely acclaimed Taare Zameen Par and Ajay Devgn who helmed U Me Aur Hum, no other contemporary actor has tried hands on direction. Be it the Khans or a Khiladi, however every actor holds a production house for most certain affairs.

The Omkara star has a release coming up next week. Happy Ending that also stars Ileana D’Cruz, Govinda and Kalki Koechlin will release on November 21st and is directed by Raj and DK of Go Goa Gone fame.
