Divya Dutta to play negative role in Chalk n Duster

Divya Dutta who was last seen essaying the role of Shoba in Badlapur, will now be seen portraying a negative role in the upcoming film Chalk n Duster. "This is my first negative role so I am really looking forward to it because it is something I haven't attempted before", the actress told Mumbai Mirror. The 37-year-old actress who is well known for her off-beat roles will be seen in her first negative role.

Chalk n Duster has been described as a coming of age drama. It focuses upon the life of teachers and the hardships they endure in keeping up with the ever-changing education system as well as balancing things on their family front. When quizzed about her choice of role in the film, Divya said, "It's difficult when one gets bracketed into a certain type of image. I want to do a negative role now because it would showcase my range as a performer".

Chalk n Duster will be produced by Subhash Singh. Well known in Bollywood as a make-up artist, this will be Singh’s maiden production venture. The movie boasts of a stellar star cast, which includes veteran actors such as Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher and Zarina Wahab. Chalk N Duster will also feature Juhi Chawla and Jackie Shroff.
