Actor Emraan Hashmi, who was once known as an onscreen serial kisser, is trying hard to remove the image by attempting new kind of roles in all his films. By now he has left behind his initial lover boy image but still his experiment with different roles is going on. In his next, which has been given a new title Raja Natwarlal, he will play the role of a street-smart conman.

The actor said, "Ever since I heard this title, I have been after UTV to get it. It etches out my character perfectly and is extremely catchy. Also, because it fits in so well with the space of the film, it will help us in promoting the film very well.” The film is being directed by Kunal Deshmukh who feels that the most attractive part of the film is its title which will become the key to its success. As told by the director, "I always wanted to present Emraan in a never seen before avatar. He plays a master 'street con artist' - the modern day Natwarlal. So the title is just apt.”
Earlier the film was titled Shaatir. Disney India's VP and head of marketing and distribution-studio Amrita Pandey said, "Emraan, Kunal and our team were thrilled about this title from the moment we hit upon it, as it sums up his character perfectly. Emraan and director Kunal Deshmukh together have entertained audiences with back-to-back hits earlier and we look forward to Raja Natwarlal to entertain our audiences.” Presently Emraan is filming Vikram Bhatt’s Mr. X and has films like Ungli and Badtameez queued up in his kitty.
