The super hit movie had stunned the audience with outstanding performance of Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadda and Tigmanshu Dhulia, performing the major roles in the movie. The movie was originally shot as a single film measuring 319 minutes, but since no Indian theatre would volunteer to screen any five plus hour movie, it was divided into two parts. Now that the film is finding its audience in North America and Los Angeles, there are chances that the movie will be released as a single long film there.

The excitement was shared by different distributors of the film via Twitter. Cinelicious Pics tweeted, "Thrilled to announce that we've picked up Kashyap's epic crime saga Gangs of Wasseypur!”. According to reports, Cinelicious has picked up the North American theatrical rights with The Grey and Lone Survivor producer Adi Shankar.
