Grand Pa Raj Kapoor encouraged us to perform by distributing toffees: Ranbir Kapoor

Though Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor has won many awards this year for his Rockstar performance, a prize of toffee given to the actor by his Grand Pa Raj Kapoor for his childhood performances didnt mean less to him. Recalling his days spent with the Showman of the Hindi film industry on the eve of his 24th death anniversary, Raj Kapoor's grandson Ranbir said, "Raj Kapoorji passed away when I was very young.... I think I must be six-years-old then. I still remember he used to call us to his room. All my cousins, including me, my sister, Kareena and Karisma we all used to be there.... he used to call us in a room and he used to have all the toffees with him". He added, "We all used to sit down and he used to ask us to perform. And getting that one toffee was a very big deal". The legendary actor-director died on June 2, 1988 at the age of 63.
