Gunday pays ‘montage tribute’ to late Yash Chopra

Gunday, releasing today, is a directorial venture by filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar but he gives the credit of making this project unique to late icon Yash Chopra. Zafar has dedicated 60 seconds to Yash in Gunday as a tribute and a montage will appear to the audience in the beginning of the flick. Yash’s contribution has given Indian cinema many blockbusters like Deewaar, Kabhi Kabhie, Chandni etc.

A source from Yash Raj Films banner says, "It was Ali Abbas Zafar`s idea, he was very, very keen as this was Yashji`s last script that he had heard. This was an emotional moment for Ali." Chopra also gave suggestions to Zafar about the shooting locations and asked him to shoot in actual coal mines, rather than to recreate the same. Gunday is an action crime thriller featuring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. The film financed by Aditya Chopra, is made under the banner of Yash Raj Films.
