The maker of Haider, Vishal Bhardwaj, has been compelled to bring the shooting to a temporary standstill once again after local residents in Anantnag, Kashmir demonstrated protests against the film crew. Protesters threw snowballs against the production team while the shooting was underway in Keribal area, police sources informed.

The protesters were confronted by police personnel posted on security duty in the area. But Haider team didn’t find it safe to continue with the shooting at that location. The sequences were shot later near temple town of Mattan. Nobody has been injured due to the incident. Earlier Irrfan Khan was attacked while shooting for the same film in the capital of Kashmir. As learnt from sources the director has chosen some isolated, risky locations for some scenes.

As per the source, "The location was so lovely that Bhardwaj couldn’t give it up. He knew it was dangerous, but after talking to the locals, who were of great help, they shot the scene. Apart from the local police, the locals doubled up as security for the cast and crew." These reports were also confirmed by the director, "We shot at Zaina Kadal Bridge, which is considered inaccessible for any outsider, and the credit goes to the locals, who allowed us to do such a good shoot." Haider, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, stars Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Tabu and Irrfan Khan in the lead.
