Happy Ending debacle makes Saif opt out of Mr. Chaalu?
While we had earlier reported about Saif gearing up for Excel’s next production
to be made under Reema Kagti, we hear that the actor has opted out of the project. While the
reasons cited for the same is remunerations negotiations, we wonder if this is really the cause here.
He has apparently been replaced by Shahid Kapoor.
According to a source, “Shahid recently got a narration. He has responded positively to the story as
it's the kind of character that he hasn't done in a while. The makers are now locking the dates for
workshops that will start soon. They want to put the project on floors as soon as they can. After Saif
left the film, their priority was to get the hero in place. With Shahid's nod of approval, the film will
finally kick off now.” Shahid however is pretty bumped with projects in hand right now. The actor is
currently shooting for Vikas Bahl’s Shaandaar and also has projects like Farzi and Udta Punjab set to
The source though clarified that Shahid will begin working on Mr. Chaalu soon after Udta Punjab.
“It's not a long schedule. He's going to be shooting for a couple of weeks after which he will start Mr.
Chaloo," the source told. Saif was initially well in for the role and the last minute pulling out only
goes out to show that all is not well Chote Nawab’s filmy folks. A big reason out of it could be the
failure of Happy Ending since Saif was supposed to play a similar role in Reema’s film. May be he just
got tired of the same flirtatious, playboy, lover boy sort of image.
