Happy New Year embraces award season in style

The credibility may arguably differ for the seasoned award shows but the flavour of the trophy events began with the Stardust Awards. Happy New Year went home with maximum trophies while Haider, Queen were a close second. Big B too was honoured with the International Icon of the year award.

While Happy New Year took away Best film, Best director(Farah), Best Thriller actor (Shahrukh)and Star of the Year male and female(Shahrukh-Deepika), Haider was honoured with Best actor Drama and Best Supporting Actress. While Kangana was awarded the Best Lead Actress, Vikas Bahl and Imtiaz Ali shared award for leading directors. The award night fared maximum awards for almost anybody who showed up his/her presence. With unheard sub-categories like comic actor, drama actor, thriller actor, lead actor, the ceremony was more of a consolation for almost everybody.

Anyway, Mr. Bachchan was honoured with the International Icon of the year while Asha Parekh Ji was given the lifetime achievement award. Stardust award in a way recognised every fine this year by shedding a categorical award for each one. Actors like Tiger Shroff and Alia Bhatt were honoured with the titles of superstars of tomorrow. While the year hasn’t ended as yet, the Stardust ceremony comes as an ignition to which is perhaps going to be quite a year. While this may still be an event of more glamour and glitter and less talent, let’s look forward to the coming awards shows as well, or to be honest, the ‘Entertainment Events.’
