    In what comes as a major surprise for the cine goers this season, Hate Story 2 has marked a solid figure by the end of its first weekend. The film that opened to a massive 5.5 crores on Friday managed over rupees 15 crores by the weekend. The figure does stay solid since the cost of the film is much lower.

    With the unexpected figure the film has posted, it has already secured itself to earn profits. The superlative publicity, erotic appeal, hit music and varied promos made sure the film opens well. The producers would now be taking a sigh of relief with the output Hate Story 2 has garnered. The film not only found viewers at B and C centres but also saw multiplexes adding revenues in its bag. Director Vishal Pandya too gets a much needed survivor in the industry since his last that released half a decade ago and went completely unnoticed.

    Meanwhile the other two releases Pizza 3D and Amit Sahni Ki List were too slow to take off. Both the films ranged around 2-3 crores and could only find a limited number of shows and audience. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania went strength to strength adding a huge chunk in its kitty. As tweeted by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film is a hit. “#HSKD has a ROCKING Weekend 2: Fri 3.22 cr, Sat 4.56 cr, Sun 6.10 cr. Grand total: ₹ 67.19 cr nett. SMASH HIT!”, he tweeted. The big release will now open this Friday at the ticket window. The Salman Khan starrer Kick which is expected to take a huge opening opens on July 25th.
