Here’s Who Will Star Opposite Shahid Kapoor In Batti Gul Meter Chalu

Shahid Kapoor is busy preparing for his next film titled Batti Gul Meter Chalu which is being directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Ever since the film has been announced there have been speculations about the film’s leading lady. Many names have cropped up for the leading lady.

Earlier, rumours were doing rounds that Katrina Kaif might play Shahid’s lady love in the movie. However, later we heard that the actress has refused to be a part of the flick because of her tight-packed schedule. Recently, at an event when asked from Shahid about the film’s female lead, he said, "No heroine has been decided for that film yet. Once it's finalised I'll let you know."

And now the reports have emerged that Shraddha Kapoor will play Shahid’s love in the movie. "Negotiations with Shraddha are on. She is yet to give her nod. But, she should be able to work on it,” a source told a leading tabloid.

However, when asked from Shree Narayan Singh, he refuted all the reports and said, "I have met a lot of people. You know we are still at the scripting stage and till the script is not ready, how can I say who will play the role. So, the role of the leading lady in the film is really important as the film is set in a different place and has a different language. Yes, I am meeting everybody, I mean the names which have been popped up."

Earlier he said, "I am thrilled to begin work on Batti Gul in Uttarakhand. There is a different vibe here which keeps bringing me back to this beautiful state. Showing a new side to it will be a big challenge."
