Here’s Why R Madhavan Walked Out Of ‘Fanney Khan’

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra announced of bringing the Taal jodi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoot, once again in his forthcoming film ‘Fanney Khan’. As soon as people heard about it, they started speculating that the film will star both the actors opposite each other. However, later Rakeysh clarified that Anil and Aishwarya will not romance each other.

A few days ago, Rakeysh announced of R Madhavan as an addition to the cast of ‘Fanney Khan’. It was reported that not Anil, but Madhavan will romance the 43-year-old actress. Then the news surfaced that Madhavan has opted out the film and Rajkummar Rao has replaced him.

The reports emerged that Madhavan walked out as he was having date issues. But now we have heard that it was not because of date issues that Madhavan opted out of the film, but because of the huge price that he asking for. An insider said, “The real story is that Madhavan asked for a huge remuneration. He wanted Rs 1.5 crore for a 15-day shoot. And the makers felt that it was not justified. The plan is to make the film within a certain budget and the price quoted by Maddy didn’t align with that. It was mutually decided he couldn’t be part of the film and Rajkummar Rao was brought in immediately.”

It was not only Madhavan that the makers auditioned, but many young actors, from Akshay Oberoi to Kartik Aaryan, to play Ash’s love interest. But none of them fit the bill. It was then Mehra decided to cast a fresh face opposite the former Miss World. “Mehra was keen on casting Adil Ibrahim, who’s a big name in the Malayalam film industry. But that also didn’t happen. Aishwarya didn’t want Adil in the film and she put her foot down. She was okay with working opposite Madhavan and the later choice, Rajkummar,” revealed the source.
