Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty finally hits a Ton, continues making solid money

With every trade analyst keenly following the box office run of Akshay Kumar’s recent successful outing Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, the movie broke into the notable ‘100 cr Club’ today i.e. Friday. The film continued its marathon run even in the second week and ended up just pennies short of the century. But as soon as the ticket counters opened today in the morning, the movie stormed its way to mark what has recently become a huge parameter to measure a film’s success.

Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty finally hits a Ton, continues making solid money

The film added 31.01 crores in its second week to the 68.3 crores it had earned in the first week. “And as you read this, #Holiday crosses ₹ 100 cr nett in India today [Friday]. HIT,” tweeted famous trade analyst Taran Adarsh this morning. All eyes are now set if the film still manages to beat Jai Ho’s lifetime collections of 111 crores and become the Highest Grosser of the year, well only time will answer that. Meanwhile the extremely poor reports of Sajid Khan’s Humshakals give a fair chance to Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty to maintain the steady run. The film would face a real challenge in the days to come when the much talked about ‘Ek Villain’ releases. Holiday is a much needed success for Akshay Kumar since most of his last movies Bombed at the ticket window. It joins third in the list after Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore to be Khiladi’s 100 crore proud earner. Director A.R. Murugadoss, producer Vipul Shah along with the cast have all the reasons to laugh and celebrate their film’s success. Until then we keep tracking what the movie actually ends up with.
