I Didn’t Understand Dear Zindagi, says Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan is riding high with the success of his latest released movie, Raees. The year 2016 was also a fine year for him as three of his films including a guest appearance in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, released last year. The actor is on a roll as the year started with a super hit film Raees.

Last year, Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi was a bigger hit among all his projects. However, the superstar said that he didn’t understand the movie. In an interview with IANS, the Dilwale actor said, “I may not be able to convince you with my love story at my age and stage, but I come from a different world. I work with new directors but I don’t understand the beauty of it. To be honest, I understand the essence, I understand the empowerment of women, I understand the issues about young girl. For instance, I didn’t understand ‘Dear Zindagi’. But they (makers) knew it. This is very essential”.

Helmed by Gauri Shinde, the flick was bankrolled by  Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, and Shinde under the banners of Red Chillies Entertainment, Dharma Productions, and Hope Productions respectively. The film starred Shahrukh Khan with young actor Alia Bhatt. The film fared well at the box-office and was critically acclaimed too.
