I Wanted To Cut Two Feet From A Star As Big As Khan Saab: Aanand L Rai On Working With Shah Rukh Khan In A Dwarf Film

Aanand L Rai is busy preparing for his upcoming untitled movie which will see Shah Rukh Khan playing a dwarf. Ever since the film has been announced, it has been on everyone’s lips. According to recent reports, it seems that both Aanand and Shah Rukh are in awe of each other.

During the trailer launch of Aanand’s forthcoming project 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan' which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead, SRK tweeted a very emotional post for the filmmaker. He tweeted, "Sir miss kar raha hoon aapko." After reading the script, the filmmaker also admitted that he also misses the superstar and cannot wait to shoot with him again.

"Our relationship goes beyond the actor director equation. Now that I've found him, he'll be with me till I'm around. It's the same with Dhanush who's like a younger brother, and Sonam (Kapoor) who I'll just call up to know what she is doing. I've not trained at any film institute, idhar udhar ki baton mein mujhe mazaa aata hai aur issi beech film ban jaati hai. It's important to enjoy the journey because that's what defines a film which is the last chapter," said the 46-year-old filmmaker.

This is the reason that made SRK describe Aanand’s dwarf as a ‘happy person’. Moreover, he said that he is fine with being cut down to four feet. Rai came with the idea of making the dwarf movie 5 years ago which he borrowed from Hollywood's Spider-Man, Batman and Superman. "I loved seeing Hrithik (Roshan) fly off a 250-feet building, it was brilliantly done, but deep down I felt this wasn't us. Apart from our mythological demigods, Indians aren't ready for superheroes, kadd mein hum abhi bahut chhote hain. That's what made me want to live life from the perspective of a dwarf," he said.

When asked from him about the reason of roping SRK for the film, he said that he wanted a confident person like Khan Saab and cut the all-important two feet from him. He further stated that since the Dilwale actor is intelligent, therefore he could understand what he meant to say.
