Actor Rahul Bhat, who is winning accolades for his recently-released film, Ugly says that he will now be choosier with his roles. Bhat, who started his career with the small screen in the late 90s with the hit show Heena, playing actor Simone Singh’s husband, says those days weren’t the best days in terms of content in films. “That wasn’t really a great phase and I ended up making wrong choices,” says the actor. Both of Bhat’s films, Yeh Mohabbat Hai (2002) and Nayee Padosan (2003) bombed ruthlessly at the box office.

Now, however, after bagging a best actor nomination at the Cannes film fest for Ugly, and appreciation from critics and the audience, Bhat is hopeful about his career ahead.

“I have decided not to rush. I will take things easy and work on good project…films that I am 100% convinced about. I won’t do any more stupid films,” says the 35-year-old, who’s next be seen in Sudhir Mishra’s Devdas. “I’m working with Richa Chadda and Aditi Rao Hydari in this film, and it’s a brilliant script by Sudhir,” says Bhat, who’s all pepped up about shooting in Delhi for the next schedule of Devdas in Delhi.
