IIFA 2017 Honors Neerja, Udta Punjab

Today will be the last day of IIFA 2017, which is being held in the Big Apple. The event this year will be hosted by director Karan Johar and will see performances by Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, including others. The event will also honor Neerja with the Best Film award, Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt with the Best Actor and Actress awards, along with various other recognitions.

Udta Punjab didn’t just stop with bagging the Best Actor and Actress awards, Diljit Dosanjh was awarded with the title of Best Debutant and also, Kanika Kapoor was the Best Singer in the female category for crooning songs in the film. Some of the other winners include Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury who was given the award for Best Director for his film ‘Pink’. The lead actress in the film, Taapsee Pannu, was chosen to be the Woman of The Year and AR Rahman was honored with the Special Contribution to Indian Cinema award.

Many celebrities spoke about their experiences at IIFA Festivals. Salman shared that he feels honored to be part of the IIFA Movement and looks forward to the IIFA festival in New York. Katrina Kaif and Varun Dhawan shared their excitement as well.
