Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met and Rockstar, Imtiaz Ali has always enthralled his audiences with each and every outcome from his directorial efforts. But the happiest moment has still not arrived for the director and is set to arrive very soon. His upcoming film Highway has been his dream project from the very beginning and he is very content that he has finally landed his hands upon the project to make it a reality.

As told to PTI by Ali on his dream project Highway, "I intended this to be my first film. I thought of it first while I was directing TV serials. Over the years, I wrote the script, forgot about it and continued to visit it time and again but I would always end up doing other movies.” Ali, who is done with 70 percent shooting of the film, stated more, "After I finished 'Rockstar', I realised that I will keep not making 'Highway' forever unless I jumped into it right now.” Ali has also claimed that this one would be the most honest work of him till date and he went on, "I am also trying to discover what it is that this story has always been in my mind. What is so intensely fascinating about it that I have not let it go.”

The film, which stars Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt, is set in six different states and explores the journey of two completely different persons brought together by luck. The film has A. R. Rahman on its board for the background music. Ali had also something to say about the movie which is completely different from Rockstar though its music may resemble that of Rockstar, "The nature of this movie is very different. This story is played out on a large and very picturesque terrain. In this kind of journey you feel certain things that can't be expressed except through music. Most of the songs play in the backgroung in 'Highway'." After releasing Highway, Ali will start his next venture starring Ranbir Kapoor.
