Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and now Kashmir. We are talking about the shooting locales of Imtiaz Ali’s Highway which is being shot in some of the most stunning locations across our country. The final schedule of the shooting will take place in thepicturesque Kashmir valley.

The shooting is underwayin the small huts of Aru valley after snow-clad Chandanwadi. As told by Imtiaz, "This has been a very different Kashmir for us. We trailed with the Bakarwals who are nomadic shepherds and with them saw the high slopes and streams of upper Himalayan mountains. This is a splendour that we had to trek for hours each day to bring to film.” He said further, "There is so much that Kashmir has to offer, it is amazing. Yet you always feel you have only scratched the surface. Very excited about Kashmir in Highway.”

While talking atan interactive session organized by Media Department of Kashmir University, Ali said, "Kashmir is regarded as special in the country... It is like the jewel of the country... But it is represented very little and I do share your sentiment that it has not being completely and accurately described. There have been films on Kashmir, but there is much more than what has been shown.” Imtiaz looked like being quite impressed with Kashmir as he went on, "Kashmir is the most beautiful place I have seen in my life. I have been very attracted by Kashmiri culture... The way they eat, the way they cook and all that... It is the most sophisticated society I have known. I love Kashmir and I want to show it through my films.” Highway, starring Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt in the lead is slated to release on December 13.
