Insult of Indian contestant on UKs Big Brother show to be probed

To probe the alleged racist attack on Miss India UK Deana Uppal, who is a contestant on the UKs controversial show Big Brother, the makers of the reality programme have asked Telly watchdog Ofcom to launch an investigation. The accused contestant Posh Scott Mason, who insulted the Indian housemate, has also been warned by producers that he could be kicked off from the programme for his misbehaviour. According to reports, the last nights broadcast of the show saw a reflection of the much talked about Shilpa Shetty-Jade Goody row on the 2007's Celebrity Big Brother. Scott and his friends were seen mocking Deana for eating with her hands, saying, "I noticed she was eating cereal with her hands so I said to her: 'Do you need a spoon?'". When Big Brother told Scott in the diary room -- "Big Brother believes that your use of language could be seen as stereotyping and therefore potentially offensive. If you use this type of language again we may have to consider removing you from the house" -- he said, "I'm sorry for getting carried away". Ofcom has reportedly received around 2,000 complaints about the current series of Big Brother which allegedly witnessed seven incidents of racism in the house.
